Be prepared to swoon...

You don't have to wear a white dress anymore (unless of course you want to!)

This year designers have decided to spice things up a little by splashing their wedding dresses with a hint of color for extra pizzazz.

In previous years we've seen color done big and bold, but 2013 is all about the subtleties.

From blush pinks and olive greens to heavenly blues, delicate colors are now having their time to shine.

White doesn't look good on everyone -  find a color that is flattering to your skin tone instead.

Waist defining peplums inject an instant dose of haute couture into any wedding dress.

Why is everyone suddenly in love with this style?

Apart from the fact that they slim the waist and make even the boyish of figures look curvylicious, they just scream high fashion.

Okay so your wedding's not a runway, but you still want to look killer right...?

Well pick a wedding dress with a peplum and you're already half way there!

Both structured and softly draped peplums are popular this 2013, and either get a thumbs up from us.

Thanks to the beautiful Kate Middleton and her exquisite Alexander McQueen wedding dress lace made a massive comeback, and from what we've seen this is one trend that isn't slowing down anytime soon.

Lace is soft, romantic and ethereal.

In 2013 expect to see lace layered on top of a plethora of other fabrics, adding volume and dimension.

One really unique and super sweet way to bring this trend into your personal wedding look, is to dig out your mother's (or even grandmother's for that matter) old wedding dress (it's bound to have lace!) and rework it for your own gown.

You may be thinking that florals have been done to death, and quite frankly they have, but only because they are so damn gorgeous and make the bride to be look truly stunning.

From ultra feminine chiffon petals to statement flower detailing, florals of all kinds are in for 2013.

If you're not ready to take this trend all the way, and don't want to end up looking like a country garden, take baby steps by opting for a floral embellished veil or a few well placed buds.

If you're the type of bride that simply must have a second dress for the reception or after party, then the convertible dresses that will be adorning our stores this 2013 are going to be right up your alley.

With wedding dresses that use removable capes, skirts and trains to completely transform your reception look you can have everything you want all in one dress!

Big dresses are heavy and these days the modern bride wants to be able to move around easily and freely later in the day.

With a convertible wedding dress you can do just that.

Illusion Neckline

One of the hottest trends for 2013, and one that we absolutely love has got be the illusion neckline.

Designed to give the feel of a strapless gown, this style is perfect for brides that want a little extra coverage.

Not only will the illusion neckline keep your modesty intact, it will also help your dress to stay in place as you let loose and dance the night away.

Feminine and charming, the illusion neckline is ideal for those marrying in spring and summer seeking a lightweight way to cover up.

Not a fan of your arms, or have a tattoo that you'd rather forget, then long sleeves it is.

Sleeves provide a classic alternative to the many varieties of strapless wedding gowns.

Taking inspiration again from Duchess Kate, sleeves will be popping up in all shapes and sizes throughout 2013.

Whether it's full length skin tight sleeves with intricate detailing or loose billowy sleeves fashioned from sheer material, there is sure to be a sleeve that will take your fancy.

Bling is back!

Designers certainly didn't shy away from gems this season - choosing to adorn their gowns with glitz and glam from head to toe.

If you really want to dazzle on your big day then choosing a wedding dress with jeweled details could be the perfect answer.

2013 will see it all, from encrusted bodices and glittery sleeves to top to bottom sequins.

Be prepared for all eyes to be transfixed on you when selecting a wedding dress that features all over beading.

Sexy Backs

Two dimensional dresses are out.

People are looking at you from every angle, and you want to make sure you give them some eye candy no matter where they're seated during the ceremony.

Last season sexy backs were a hit, and now they're back with more demure, romance and attention to detail than ever before.

Seductive peekaboo keyholes, lace frames and delicate embroideries.

What more could a bride ask for!

Layers and Ruffles

Add a touch of feminine frivolity to your big day with swathes of layers or ruffles.

Continuing across the year, layers and ruffles are a strong trend for 2013, and it's not hard to see why.

If you're after a way to add instant drama to your look, then this trend will fulfill.

For minimalistic brides that want an effortless look, opt for a gown with gentle cascading ruffles.

Bold Headpieces

Whilst traditional white veils are beautiful, 2013 has paved the way for bigger, bolder headpieces (and it may have something to do with the fact that Hollywood's hottest brides are on board).

Forget veils and tiaras at the altar, and embrace these out of the ordinary headpieces instead.

The choices are endless.

For a bohemian flair try a rustic floral wreath, and if that's not your thing, then do it Kim Kardashian style with a dainty drop diamond head wrap.
