Celebrities are one of my favorite sources of wedding inspiration because they set the trends and always go outside of the box!
One of the most elaborate weddings this year was that of Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad and activist Lauren Parsekian.
They tied the knot at the Cottage Pavilion in Malibu, California this summer, and the tabloids are still raving over the extravagant Parisian wedding.
What made their wedding so special?
The couple chose a theme and stuck to it! After Paul proposed to Parsekian in Paris on New Years Eve in 2011, the couple felt a Parisian wedding was the only way to go! The swanky 1920's French affair required quests to wear a masquerade mask at the reception and dress accordingly.
Even more, the reception was set up in front of a old-time Ferris wheel accompanied by classic carnival games, stilt walkers, mimes, and live magic by David Blaine. The couple even had John Mayer and Foster the People as their entertainers! Finally, the wedding earned its sophisticated side with the incorporation of vintage sofa arrangements for seating, featured tea sets, and elegant bird cages.
This picture is not from the celebs' wedding but I love this take on their theme!
All of the fun decorations could not take away from the stunning bride, Lauren Parsekian. She wore the "Paris" gown designed by Kenneth Pool-- one of my favorite designers! I don't think any other label could have produced a more perfect dress for this wedding. The Kenneth Pool label has long been recognized for its fantasy and drama with its grand ball gowns, fine fabrics, and attention to detail.
As for the bride's look, she wore her hair long in waves and even did her own makeup. Her hair is one of my favorite styles yet! You can sense her excitement on wedding day when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram getting her hair done by stylist Michael Kanyon Habib.
While this couple certainly had an extravagant wedding, it was still sentimental and sweet. Inspiring their wedding after their engagement location, was a great way to keep their love alive and better yet, share it with their friends and family!
The love expressed in their wedding has remained after the big day. In fact, the media is getting "sick" of this couple because they've found nothing bad to say about them! In an interview by People Magazine, Paul said of his wedding, "It was the greatest experience of my entire life, and she's still with me which is fantastic. Four months strong, marriage is easy!" While marriage may not be "easy" this couple may be a beacon of hope among celebrity marriages. To this I say, congratulations to the new couple and cheers to a wonderful life together!
