With rising temps and relentless heat waves, summer is making quite the splash this year. To help you cool off on your travels, we’re breaking down 10 amazing hotel and event venue pools. So, slather on the sunscreen, break out your favorite bathing suit and get ready to dive on in:
1. Punta Tragara in Capri, Italy
For Number 1 on our list, we head to Italy, where Hotel Punta Tragara sits pretty on the oh-so-chic island of Capri. Overlooking the famous Faraglioni rock formations that jut up from the saturated blue waters of the Mediterranean, few hotels offer views like that of Punta Tragara.
We especially love the hotel's mesmerizing pool, which offers a cocktail menu like no other and—yes—views of the tranquil Mediterranean for as far as the eye can see.
2. Canaves Oia in Santorini, Greece
Number 2 on our list takes us to the bright blue waters and stark white stucco of Santorini, Greece where we find ourselves at the utterly unforgettable Canaves Oia Luxury Resort. With a tranquil aesthetic that embodies minimalism at its stripped-down finest, Canavas Oia offers five-star accommodations amongst one of the most calming settings on Earth.
Suites at Canaves Oia each include their own private pool with sweeping views of the saturated Aegean Sea. Our favorite accommodation option, though? The River Pool Suite, which offers its oh-so-fortunate guests a private meandering river that carves its way through the interior of the suite, eventually making its way under the sunny skies of Santorini, where unobstructed views of the sapphire sea await.
3. Villa Mareas in Uvita, Costa Rica
Sitting pretty in colorful Costa Rica is Villa Mareas, a luxury private retreat designed specifically for destination weddings, yoga retreats and group getaways of all kinds. The estate boasts nine beautiful suites that sit on 36 expansive acres blanketed in mature vegetation and serene waterfalls, but few places on the property can beat its picturesque pool.
Surfaced entirely in glistening tiles, covering an impressive 1,700 square feet, and boasting a mesmerizing infinity edge design, it’s easy to see why this beautiful body of water made it to Number 3 on our list.
4. Le Parker Meridien in Midtown New York
For Number 4 on our list, we leave colorful Costa Rica and head to the super-chic Midtown New York where we take an indoor rooftop dive at Le Parker Meridien, arguably one of the city's most edgy and oh-so New York hotels.
With floor-to-ceiling windows that offer unobstructed views of Central Park and an outdoor tanning deck for those looking to soak up some sun while in the Big Apple, Le Parker Meridien's pool offers a big-city-chic take on summertime swims. Non-hotel guests can purchase a day pass for $150—a small price to pay for those unforgettable views. (And, when you're done taking a dip, head to the hotel's hidden burger joint for one of the best cheeseburgers of your life.)
5. Castello Di Vicarello in Grosseto, Italy
For Number 5 on our list we leave the Empire State and head to the Italian countryside, where a combination of salty Mediterranean air and rich vintage wine cures everything and anything.
A luxury, award-winning boutique hotel in Grosseto, Castello Di Vicarello encompasses all that is Italian countryside charm. From springtime, when the scent of fresh flowers fills the air, to autumn, when grapes and olives are harvested by the handful, this quaint castle is open through all four seasons and, with each, offers an entirely new experience.
Our favorite Castello Di Vicarello experience, though? Taking an early morning or late-afternoon dip in one of the property’s two peaceful pools. Though their architecture and design feels quite simple (in the best way possible), the views that encircle each are complex and layered as far as the eye can see.
6. The Langham in Sydney, Australia
For Number 6 on our list, we head down under to the Langham in Sydney, Australia, where a pristine pool sits pretty under the seemingly twinkling lights of a sky-muraled ceiling. Towering stone columns surround impeccable turquoise tile work that lines the entirety of the Langham's 20-meter indoor heated pool, making for a splashing experience like no other on Earth. With a space like this, you may even forget about the beautiful beaches of Sydney that sit just steps away from the hotel's front door.
7. Pinnacle Point Estate in Rancho Santa Fe, California
We head back stateside for Number 7 on our list, where we land in Rancho Santa Fe, California at the picturesque Pinnacle Point Estate. Situated on three pristine acres at the end of a gated road, the expansive estate embodies the definition clean-lined contemporary architecture at every turn.
Renowned architect Jorge Engel designed the 5,600-square-foot estate, which boasts an elevator, custom stonework and—our favorite part—an infinity-edge pool that overlooks Lake Hodges and the mesmerizing lines it cuts through the mountains below.
8. La Jolla Modern in La Jolla, California
For Number 8 on our list, we head away from bright blues and lake views and toward clean-lined contemporary where we land in La Jolla, California at the La Jolla Modern. Concrete never looked so cool as it does at this striking event venue in everyone's favorite sunshine state. Floor-to-ceiling windows encircle the entire building, offering unobstructed views of the expansive Pacific and an airy interior opens up to modern spaces that seem to mirror the definition of minimalism.
Our favorite minimalistic element of this oh-so-clean estate, though? Its understated lap pool, defined by sharp edges, clean lines and an aesthetic that's as California-contemporary as they come.
9. Las Olivas Event Venue in Rancho Santa Fe, California
We don’t move far for Number 9 on our list, which sits pretty amongst the scenic views and rolling hills of Rancho Santa Fe, California. Las Olivas Event Venue encompasses all that is true Tuscan architecture—beautifully landscaped grounds surround ivy-cloaked stone archways and classic brick-red shingles.
Few places on the property, though, are as eye-catching as its massive pool, which boasts three (yes, three) cascading waterfalls as mesmerizing as they are invigorating.
Our favorite part of the oh-so-pretty pool, though? The serene built-in lighting that gives it a defining glow at night—adding that perfect romantic touch to an outdoor wedding or soiree of any sort.
10. Casa De Glory in San Diego, California
We couldn't consider a pool-roundup complete without at least one Spanish charmer, and Casa De Glory in San Diego, California provides us with just that. Old Spanish-style architecture is illustrated through hand-painted tiles, classic sandstone hues and charming archways at this expansive estate.
With tranquil turquoise water, intricate tile work that follows a concrete wall into the depths of the pool itself, and sprawling views of Sunny San Diego, few pools feel as truly Californian as this Spanish beauty. With towering palm trees edging the area and a deck perfect for sunbathing, there's really no better place on Earth to soak up the San Diego sun.
