Luxury travel can take on many forms. For some, you may prefer to find the cheapest flight to your destination and splurge on your accommodations at a luxury resort or boutique hotel. For others, economy seats simply will not do. You’d rather splurge on the comforts of a First Class seat during your 12-hour flight.
These are no ordinary plane seats, these are the very best of the best accommodations when it comes to commercial air travel. If you don't own a private jet, this is the way to travel. We’re starting off with Part One of our favorite first class cabins and suites with some of the top airlines in the world.
In Emirates First Class cabins, you’re treated to your own private suite, shower spa, fine dining, and more! These private suites can be found in most of their Boeing 777s and A380s airplanes.
Privacy doors allow you to immerse yourself in your own personal sanctuary. Seats are more than comfortable at 86 x 23 inches.
Thirsty? You are treated to champagne, wine or select a drink of choice from your own minibar. Hot beverages and other cold options are available at your request!
Hungry? Dine at your convenience. From full meals to a la carte snacks, you can choose when you’re served. Ingredients are locally sourced and served in menus inspired by global cuisine. Food is paired with wines hand selected by their sommeliers.
When you’re ready to relax or get some shut-eye, your seat converts into a completely flat bed and you can select your own in-flight entertainment. You won’t have to worry about finding something to watch as you have 2,500 channels to choose from, as well as on-demand movies and TV shows in many different languages. You can also play games or listen to music through their entertainment system.
Need to refresh before you land? Shower on your long flight! Bvlgari toiletries are provided as well as their own revitalizing spa products. Other amenities include a vanity table and mirror.
Don’t forget to stretch your legs in the Lounge. Only First Class and Business guests can use this lounge. Here you can enjoy some fresh bites and choose from a selection of libations from the bar.
The perks don’t end with your flight either! You can book a complimentary chauffeur service which will transport you to and from the airport in more than 70 different destinations. When you arrive at the airport you can spend your pre-boarding time in one of their exclusive lounges. Upon arrival, a fast track card will get you through immigrations faster.

The Residence has not one, not two, but three rooms totaling 125 square feet. Yes, you hear that correctly, three rooms. These include a bedroom, living room, and ensuite shower room. This is the only commercial airline with a three-room suite. Each suite is designed for two people traveling together.
The bedroom includes a 6 foot 10-inch double bed with designer linens. The room wouldn’t be complete without a 27-inch flat screen TV where you can watch all the movies you’d like. Your room also comes with a personal wardrobe.
The living room offers plenty of seating options including a sofa and two dining tables. In case you don’t want to watch TV in bed, you can spend your flight lounging in the living room with your eyes on the 32-inch screen. Etihad provides you with noise-cancelling headsets for all in-flight entertainment.
Get refreshed before you hop off the plane in the ensuite shower room. Don’t worry about amenities, they’ve got that covered for you. Not only do you get to enjoy a full-height shower, but they also include a hair dryer and make-up mirror so you can get ready for your adventures ahead.
Treat yourself to the ultimate personal service including a lifestyle concierge service, an in-flight chef, and a butler. Your lifestyle concierge team can make travel arrangements for you while you fly. They can make dinner reservations for you or even booking tickets to events. Your personal chef can create a dish off their mouth watering menu, or cook up something completely different! Should you like to take some service into your own hands, you can choose from a selection of beverages in a chilled drinks cabinet within your suite.
In addition to all of these in-flight services, Etihad also has a luxury chauffeur and private lounge for check-in at the airport. After check in you can stop in at the Six Senses Spa for a relaxing massage before boarding your flight.
You’ll never have to worry about privacy on Singapore Airlines in their First Class Suites. These suites are exclusively found on the Airbus A380–800. Each cabin has a sliding door as well as blinds on each of the two windows in your suite. Each suite has a luxurious leather seat (35 inches wide), as well as a completely separate bed measuring 82 inches long. Each flight comes with turn down service and classic bedroom amenities like pajamas and slippers.
A large table in the suite makes it easy to convert the area into a dining space, and if you’re traveling with a partner you can convert your suite into a double room.
Entertainment on Singapore Airlines is also top notch. With over 1,000 options including movies and TV shows, games, and music you won’t have a shortage of things to keep you occupied on your flight. Your personal 23-inch LCD screen also comes with noise-cancelling headphones for ultimate comfort. Guests also have access to the internet so you can stay connected with family and friends, or stay on top of work deadlines.
When it comes to food, the onboard chefs create menus specializing in cuisine around the world. Your food won’t be served in a plastic bento box either. All meals are served on fine bone china. You can even select your main course before you fly (up to 24 hours in advance). You’ll receive full table service and wine selections.
From checking-in for your flight to your arrival, Qantas has you covered. A chauffeur will drive you to the airport where their First Hosts will be waiting to greet you at the airport. They will take you to the First check in area and will fast track you through immigration so that you can spend the rest of your time in the exclusive International First Lounge. Inside the lounge, you will find complimentary spa treatments, business suites, a library full of reading materials, plasma TVs, and fine dining. Boarding is made easy with your own dedicated lane at the flight gate.
Once inside the aircraft, you’ll be able to stretch out and adjust your seats into a fully flat bed. This feature is available on the A380s and B747s. Should you be flying with a partner, they can join you in your suite and sit on the built-in ottoman.
The amenities that you’ll encounter on this flight are top notch too! Each guest will receive a 100% cotton jersey pajamas embroidered with the signature Qantas kangaroo. You’ll also receive a pair of black socks and slippers to complete the look! Bathroom toiletries are also included, as well as SK-II products and an eye mask.
If you find yourself in need of nourishment, it doesn’t get much better than this. You’ll enjoy an 8-course dining experience or can select from an a la carte menu. Not only will the food be impressive, you’ll also have an on board sommelier to assist you with wine and champagne selections.
Each seat on the A380 has a 17-inch touch screen entertainment system complete with noise-cancelling headphones. You can select from hundreds of on-demand options including TV programs, movies, maps, games, radio selections, and music. Each seat is also equipped with a telephone which also has texting capabilities. Should you need to catch up on some work or travel research, each seat also comes with a 110v AC power outlet to power your laptop or other electronics.
Beyond your flight, your First Hosts will escort you quickly through immigration at your destination. Your bags will be first off the plane and your chauffeur will be there to greet you and take you exactly where you need to go.
