There is no shortage of airline options to get you from Point A to Point B but only a select few that make you feel like the king or queen that you are in your own luxury first class suite. When business class simply won’t do, and you need something with a bit more je ne sais quoi, these first class cabins will exceed your expectations.
We’ve outlined a few of our favorites in Part 1 of this series, including Emirates, Etihad, Singapore and Qantas, but we continue the list of our favorite first class cabins on luxury flights around the globe.
Air France La Première
Your first class experience with Air France begins on the ground. Enjoy a chauffeured car service which will drop you off at any airport for your Air France flight. They will also pick you up and transport you to your destination after your Air France flight. Upon arrival at the airport, the La Première staff will escort you to the check-in lounge while a porter will handle your baggage for you. Once checked in, you’ll have priority access through security lines before boarding your flight.
While you’re waiting for your flight in the lounge, you can take advantage of many luxury services from full gourmet meals and table service, premium cocktails and wine selection, spa treatments, a library of reading materials, HD televisions, as well as workspace if you have business to conduct. La Première even allows access to a digital library on your tablet up to 24 hours before your flight.
Once on board, you’ll be personally introduced to the flight crew and experience non-stop service throughout the flight. Depending on the aircraft, only 4 to 9 lucky passengers on each B777-300 aircraft are given this ultimate first class experience. From coat service to loungewear and slippers, La Première has you covered. They even give you a dust bag for your shoes. If you need to refresh on your flight, don’t worry about digging out your toiletries kit, La Première provides Carita facial and body products to moisturize and refresh your skin.
Seating on board was designed with ultimate comfort in mind. Each La Première seat has direct access to the aisle and converts into a bed. When flat, this bed reaches 6.5 feet long and includes a memory foam mattress and Sofitel duvet and pillow. If you do need to store some essentials for your flight, each compartment includes a drawer in front of your seat for anything you can’t live while you’re in the air. Your tray table on board is large enough for you to enjoy a meal with another passenger, who can sit across from you on their own private bench. Each seat also comes with a 10.4-inch private touch screen for on-demand entertainment. If you need to get some work or reading done on the plane, each seat is also equipped with a power outlet as well as a reading lamp.
Food service on board is top notch. The current menu is designed by Daniel Boulud, a French Michelin-starred chef known for his successful restaurants in New York. A la carte meals cater to all types of cuisine from around the world. If you’re flying to Japan you can enjoy a full Japanese meal.
After landing, La Première guests will be the first passengers off the plane to collect their luggage at Baggage Claim. Should you be catching a connecting flight, La Première staff will be there to greet you as you exit your flight and escort you to the private La Première Lounge.
British Airways First Suite
Before you board your flight, the British Airways departure lounge is your exclusive sanctuary designed to keep you happy and refreshed. Enjoy everything from spa treatments to fine dining and drinks. Business facilities are also available if you simply don’t have any time to spare before your board. If you are flying from London Heathrow or New York’s JFK you can experience the Concorde Room. With full waiter service, private cabanas business suites and more, it doesn’t get much better than this!
Onboard the 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, your First suite is designed to keep you both comfortable and relaxed. Each Dreamliner only has 8 premium first class cabins. Your seat converts into a fully flat bed which measures 6 foot 6 inches. The bed is made up of a luxury quilted mattress, cotton duvet, and pillow. As we’ve come to expect from these premiere first class cabins, you’ll also be provided with comfortable pajamas for your flight. Each guest is given a specialty branded bag of amenities for your flight.
If you need to work during your flight, each seat has a power outlet for any electronic device you’ve brought on board. If you’re in need of an in-flight power adapter, ask your cabin crew for assistance, however, some aircrafts may not have adaptors available for purchase. Your personal 15-inch television screen features a touchscreen handset and access to the latest in on-demand entertainment. From the latest in TV and film to music, games, and audiobooks, you will have plenty to do and see before the plane touches the ground. Each screen also includes a USB port and RCA jack so you can plug in your laptop or other devices into your screen for a larger screen experience.
When flying into London Heathrow, step into the Arrivals lounge after your flight in order to get ready for your day ahead. Amenities include showers, clothes-pressing services, as well as dining options to help you feel refreshed before stepping outside.
Don’t worry about lines when you book a flight with British Airways in their First Suite. You’ll have a dedicated check-in desk at most airports as well as priority boarding. You’ll be fast tracked through security at Heathrow, Gatwick as well as New York’s JFK. You will also be fast tracked through the arrivals process in London.
Flying First Suite also means you can pack pretty much as much as you want and not have to pay extra for more than a carry-on. Your ticket includes one cabin bag plus your laptop or handbag, as well as up to three checked bags. Another perk of booking first class seats with British Airways is you can receive a 5% discount when you call First Luggage which can pick up and deliver your luggage straight from home to your destination.

When you’re not dining or getting that much-needed shut-eye, your seat is the perfect place to relax and catch up with the latest in entertainment or work. The entertainment system onboard (StudioCX) includes a 17-inch screen, BOSE headphones, and a selection of curated movies and television shows. If you have work to finish, the large working area will allow you to spread out as needed and charge up your electronics with your own USB port and power outlet.
A unique feature of Cathay Pacific’s First Class seat is its ability to provide in-chair massages. Your chair comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen controller designed to not only adjust your seat positions but also select from massage options. How great is that?!
