Wineries are great for hosting a multitude of events from birthday parties to weddings. But have you ever thought of hosting a corporate retreat at one of these vineyard venues?
A retreat is a great way to unwind and disconnect from the typical day-to-day office routine. Whether you are just looking for a change of scenery for a day or a full team-building excursion, you may be surprised to find that a winery can be the perfect fit for your needs.
Here are three of our favorite California wineries. These venues are experienced at hosting a number of different types of events, including corporate retreats.
Campovida is located about two hours north of San Francisco. This isn’t your typical wine-tasting/vineyard-tour venue. Campovida actually labels itself as a “retreat center.” In addition to its wine grapes, this place also has a working organic farm.
Because of its surroundings, Campovida is the perfect place to disconnect. If you want to really go all the way with the "retreat" idea, this is the place for you. Rooms have no televisions, so there are no distractions. This kind of setup is ideal for companies who want their employees to really spend time with one another working on tasks and doing team building exercises.
The property can only be rented out exclusively. This means that you will not be sharing the space with anyone but your own group. There are 10 bedrooms available. Six are located in the inn, three are located in the farmhouse and one bedroom is in a small cottage.
Located in the famous wine-making region of the Santa Ynez Valley, Sunstone Winery is a perfect retreat escape. The winery is just a quick 30 minutes or so from Santa Barbara. However, once you arrive, you will feel like you have traveled all the way to Europe. Imported French limestone and wood beams from Queen Victoria’s 19th century French lavender farm will make you feel like you are on vacation on the continent.
The large 8,500-square-foot villa has five master suites. Each uniquely decorated suite comes with its own bathroom. Event and meeting spaces can be found on terraces, patios and the large outdoor courtyard. With all your employees under one roof, hosting activities and meetings is as easy as stepping outside of your suite.
Don’t worry about providing your own meals during the retreat. A private chef is available upon request. After a day of team building, be sure to have a private wine tasting. Campovida produces wonderful organic wines.
Holman Ranch is located in Carmel, California. This picturesque estate was built in the 1920s.
There is no shortage of group activities on offer here. The ranch has a game room with a pool table and darts. All your favorite lawn games are available as well. You and the other retreaters can get some exercise at the fitness center, swim a few laps in the pool or take a hike around the valley.
Holman Ranch also offers wine and cheese tastings and full food services. Any retreat, even a working one, isn’t complete without a little rest and relaxation, so be sure to check out the menu of spa services available here.
The property's large hacienda has all the amenities that you will need to host a conference or meeting during your stay. You will find a projector, drop down screens and a full audio system.
Holman Ranch even has all-inclusive corporate packages. Some of the package themes include:
