Whether you’re looking to host a bachelor party, a bridal shower, a corporate dinner, or a full-scale wedding, Las Vegas certainly offers countless amazing casino-based venues for that next soirée of yours. But, you may be surprised to learn that the entertainment capital of the world is also home to tons of charming, off-the-beaten-path (and off-Strip) venues as well. We’re all about the road less traveled at Venuelust, so today we’re exploring some of those lesser-known Las Vegas venues. Get ready to say goodbye to yard-long margaritas and the constant ring of slot machines, and hello to craft cocktails and charming rooftop bars. We’re taking Las Vegas Venuelusting to a whole new level with today’s round up.
1. The Artisan
We’re starting off our list today with an off-Strip venue that’s chock-full of character. Glam Goth meets Art Deco meets a Tim-Burton flick at Las Vegas’ Artisan Boutique Hotel. We especially love the fact that the space—which boasts black ceilings, stunning marble, and sparkling chandeliers—doesn’t need much dressing up at all, making it the perfect Las Vegas venue for those who don’t want to bother with bringing in outside decor.
The Artisan offers a number of possible event spaces for nearly any type of affair. The bar and ultra lounge (above) is the perfect place for cocktail hour, while the outdoor pool area makes for a stunning wedding ceremony setting. The boutique hotel also offers a number of customizable wedding package options along with tons of convenient options and accommodations for any type of private event. The best part though? Your guests can crash right on site after they’ve partied the night away—the Artisan offers discounted room blocks on its 64 guest rooms and suites for private parties.
2. Brooklyn Bowl
Number 2 on our list of our favorite off-the-beaten-path Las Vegas venues brings us to an unlikely venue on The Strip. Forget about casino ballrooms and the Bellagio Fountains and instead opt for an unexpected setting for your next soirée at the Brooklyn Bowl. One of the area’s most coveted concert venues, the Brooklyn Bowl’s claim to fame (aside from the killer musical acts it brings in) is the fact it offers private VIP bowling lanes for guests to enjoy while they dance the night away to the sounds from a stage just feet away.
Worth mentioning? The Brooklyn Bowl boasts Blue Ribbon fried chicken and out-of-this-world Bourbon Milkshakes—making it a perfect venue for all the Venuelusting foodies out there. We love the idea of reserving a lane or two for a bachelor party your guys won’t soon forget, or renting out the entire space for a wedding with up to 3,000 of your closest friends and family by your side.
3. Atomic Liquors
Next up, we head downtown to an off-Strip venue with a story worth swooning over. The oldest freestanding bar in Las Vegas, Atomic Liquors holds the city’s first-ever package liquor license (License #00001, to be exact). Originally built in 1945 under the name “Virginia's Cafe,” guests loved the owner’s secret-ingredient “Atomic Cocktails,” which eventually became the start of the "cafe."
The owners soon realized libations were their true passion, so they stopped serving food and changed the popular spot's name to “Atomic Liquors,” reflecting the fact that customers would often sit on the roof to watch the nuclear blasts from a nearby atomic test site. With a rich history and a coveted location in the heart of up-and-coming downtown Las Vegas, we love the idea of booking the storied space for a private cocktail reception for all of the imbibing history buffs out there.
If there’s a more stunning industrial-chic setting in all of the city than Therapy, we have yet to find it. We’re espeically in love with its exposed-beam ceilings, plush tufted booths, and intimate upstairs area—design details that make for an aesthetic both urban and warm. Located in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas on the famous Fremont Street, Therapy's location is ideal for hosts looking to experience the high energy of Las Vegas, without the fuss (and high prices) you'd find on the Strip.
An expansive bar, vaulted ceilings, and an open layout make for a space that manages to feel both lively and intimate. With such a stunning and fuss-free foundation to work with, private events at Therapy can range from corporate parties to family get-togethers. (Insider's Tip: The Oxtail Empanadas should not be overlooked.)
5. Grape Street Wine Bar
A locally-owned Italian Wine Bar located in West Las Vegas, Grape Street is a local favorite for everything from quiet date nights at the bar to celebratory birthday parties. Head Chef John Mckibben has perfected the menu over the years, which boasts the best Penne Alla Vodka we’ve tasted outside of Italy and fondue that will make your heart flutter. We’re especially in love with the space’s casual-chic aesthetic—warm lighting, industrial design details, and a wine wall you’ll want to climb make for a striking setting for everything from private dinners to wedding receptions.
6. Cherry at Red Rock
Located just minutes from Las Vegas’ picturesque Red Rock Canyon, Red Rock Resort is a luxurious off-Strip casino that’s an absolute favorite amongst area locals. Cherry, once a nightclub at the resort, now only opens its doors for private events, making it a perfect venue for hosts who want to show their guests an exclusive (and visually stunning) part of Sin City.
We especially love the fact that Cherry boasts its own private pool—a space that looks divine when dressed up with market lights, candles, and linen-draped cocktail rounds. With this added outdoor area, we recommend booking an event at Cherry in fall or springtime, allowing your guests to enjoy the beautiful nighttime weather Las Vegas boasts during these two seasons.
Number 7 on our list of unexpected Las Vegas venues brings us to CRAFTkitchen, a local-favorite cafe and bakery focusing on organic, non-GMO, organic-whenever-possible eats. CRAFT's private dining room is available for private bookings for everything from corporate holiday parties to bridal showers. Opened by an awarded pastry chef with five-diamond experience at places like Four Seasons Maui, CRAFT is the ultimate venue for foodies who want to host a private affair amongst menu items that will leave their guests speechless.
We love the idea of booking CRAFT’s private dining room for a small soirée, like a baby shower, birthday party, or bachelorette brunch. For large-scale functions, we recommend renting out the entire restaurant for a night chock-full of custom menu creations at the hands of head Chef Jaret Blinn. CRAFT menu must-tries include the fan-favorite Chicken and What? (pictured above), the Pulled Turkey Benny with Citrus Hollandaise, and the chef's special Short Rib Hash.
8. The Laundry Room at Commonwealth
Next up on our roundup is one of Las Vegas’ best-kept secrets. The Laundry Room is a secret speakeasy within the walls of Commonwealth, a downtown Las Vegas cocktail bar (which happens to have made Number 9 on our list). The Laundry Room is known for its killer cocktails and super strict rules—no photographs, no PDA, and no loud voices—but, if you’re up for hosting a secret soirée with libations like no other, it’s an absolutely perfect venue choice. True to its air of secrecy, very little information is available about The Laundry Room. If you want to book this one, you’ll have to text 702-701-1466 and turn on some serious charm (or, to simply visit the Laundry Room, keep an eye out for the red light above the door, which, when lit, indicates you're welcome to enter).
For those who aren’t ready to keep their voice down in secret speakeasies, Number 9 on our list takes us just outside the doors of The Laundry Room (Number 8 on our list) to the main space of Commonwealth, where loud voices and photography are welcome and encouraged. With a pre-prohibition-era design aesthetic and an impressive 6,000 square-feet of space to work with, we love the idea of renting out the entire bar for everything from swanky holiday parties to wintertime wedding receptions.
We’re particularly in love with Commonwealth’s coveted location—right in the heart of downtown on the renowned Fremont Street. Plus, its charming rooftop area—which has been host to many late nights in Las Vegas, with its renowned DJ, mood-setting market lights, and quaint seating areas—is one of our favorite spots for off-Strip Venuelusting in the always-on city.
Number 10 on our list of off-the-beaten-path Las Vegas venues brings us to Glutton, a restaurant that consistently earns the praise of local foodies and out-of-town visitors alike. Founded by seasoned Chef Bradley Manchester and part of Las Vegas’ flourishing downtown eatery scene, you’d be hard-pressed to find a Glutton menu item that doesn’t leave you weak in the knees (trust us).
With space for just around 100 guests between its interior and patio area, Glutton recommends buyouts starting at around 50 guests or so—though they’ve hosted soirées as small as 10 guests (including an intimate wedding reception). Glutton offers countless customizable menu options, all at varying price ranges and with a plethora of food styles (small plates, entrees, etc.). They also offer no-fess bar packages, which range from $8 (nonalcoholic) - $40 (open-bar) per person, depending on your needs. Event hosts can work with Glutton’s event coordinator and manager to work out details in advance. (Insider's Tip: don’t forget to try one of Glutton's famous Bloody Marys, which just so happen to be garnished with a massive prawn).
11. Keep Memory Alive Event Center
For the socially-conscious couple who wants to support a great cause while hosting their nuptials at a stunning setting, we love Las Vegas’ Keep Memory Alive Event Center. Designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, this 9,200-square-foot space offers an off-Strip events venue like no other in the entire city. It boasts a 75-foot ceiling donning 199 windows in all different shapes and sizes, Frank Gehry-designed custom furnishings, an LED lighting system (that can set the entire space ablaze in any hue of your choosing), and space for 450 guests for a seated affair (or 700 standing).
Known for its striking architecture, personalized service, and unprecedented attention to detail, weddings at the Keep Memory Alive Center truly make for unparalleled affairs. Our favorite part, though? Proceeds from events held at the Keep Memory Alive Center help support the research, treatment, and prevention of brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
12. Vitner Grill
A West-Las Vegas restaurant that’s loved by locals and food critics alike, Vitner Grill is the perfect venue for hosts looking to treat their guests to a super swanky soirée at an unbelievable off-Strip setting. Choose from three main event areas—the interior of the restaurant boasts sleek white booths, stunning black-and-white flooring, and perfect pops of green design details. The restaurant’s private dining room offers an impeccably adorned nook for friends and families alike to come together over amazing wine and unbelievable food, while the patio area (below) is chock-full of private lantern-lit cabanas draped in thoughtful design details, boasting oh-so-cozy seating.
13. Park on Fremont
Number 13 our list of unexpected Las Vegas venues takes us back downtown, where we head to a bar full of crazy-cool decor, killer cocktails, and the best West-Coast Philly Cheese Steak we’ve ever had. Park on Fremont is one of our all-time favorite Downtown Las Vegas spots—and we’re especially in love with its eclectic outdoor patio area (below), an expansive and eye-catching space tucked away in the back of the restaurant (which boasts charming details, like a hidden seesaw).
We love the idea of hosting a laid-back bachelorette night here, amongst nostalgic neon and psychedelic prints. Or, take advantage of Park’s unbelievable weekend brunch menu by using the space for a daytime bridal shower or weekend birthday brunch.
14. La Comida
Tucked away in downtown Las Vegas is one of our all-time favorite Mexican restaurants, La Comida. The space boasts design details chock-full of color, culture, and character—making it perfect for everything from vibrant bridal showers to celebratory engagement parties.
We’re especially in love with the bar at La Comida, which offers its guests rich lighting, a nostalgic marquee sign, and—most importantly—over 100 tequilas. Worth noting? The alleyway alongside the entrance is a perfect spot for photographs, as it's adorned in colorful market lights and pops of bright floral pots. We love the idea of renting out the space for a holiday party with a Mexican twist, or a fiesta-themed bachelorette. (Insider’s Tip: don’t pass up their killer margaritas.)
15. Carson Kitchen
If you’re looking to host your event amongst an urban setting that still manages to feel warm, look no further. Carson Kitchen in Downtown Las Vegas boasts an atmosphere both super-chic and utterly inviting, and we can’t get enough of it. Famous for their acclaimed bacon jam and killer cocktails, we’re huge fans of the restaurant’s rooftop bar (below). Charming market lights and views of what was once the most bustling pre-Strip scene in the city make for a striking setting for everything from holiday get-togethers to corporate dinners to surprise parties.
If you’re looking to host your upcoming event in a setting as old-school Vegas as they come, look no further than the storied Piero’s. An off-Strip hot-spot for local movers and shakers (and international celebrities alike), Piero’s is home to one of the most impressive and authentic Italian menus in the entire city. With space to seat up to 170 guests and completely customizable menus, Piero’s is a classic spot for the most swanky of soirées. (Insider's Tip: Visit during Stone Crab season.)
17. The Mob Museum
Hailed as one of Las Vegas' best off-Strip wedding venues, The Mob Museum makes for a truly unexpected option for couples looking to tie the knot in a space their guests won’t soon forget. With a beautiful building and three floors of interactive exhibits, the mob museum offers a one-of-a-kind setting for everything from weddings to corporate parties. We especially love the Mob Museum’s all-inclusive, straight-forward wedding packages, which can accommodate up to 150 guests. Our favorite part, though? The stunning architecture—eye-catching archways, storied stone, and grand columns make for an aesthetic you don't often find in Sin City.
18. The Canyon Suite at Red Rock
Number 18 on our list brings us back to Red Rock Resort, where we head up to the penthouse level for an expansive suite that overlooks Las Vegas’ striking Red Rock Canyon. Boasting 3,800 square feet, two massive master suites, a private patio, and views that speak for themselves, we love the idea of booking Red Rock's "Canyon Suite" for a stunning (and one-of-a-kind) wedding reception. Or, for a girls' trip your bridesmaids will talk about for years to come, why not host a weekend-long bachelorette party here?
19. Honey Salt
Next up on our list of Las Vegas venues we can't get enough of is Honey Salt, a charming restaurant in West Las Vegas. Created by renowned restaurateur Elizabeth Blau, Honey Salt is one of those venues that has it all—a warm atmosphere, a downhome-chic aesthetic, amazing food, and impeccable service. We love the idea of hosting a daytime engagement brunch or family-style holiday dinner here. (Insider's Tip: Start with the melt-in-your-mouth turkey meatballs and end with their house-made pie in a brown bag.)
20. Standard & Pour
The final brainchild of late Chef Kerry Simon, Standard & Pour is an off-Strip (super-chic) Las Vegas restaurant that we love for intimate private events. With clean contemporary lines, dramatic wood accents, bold floral wallpaper, and vintage tile design details, it manages to feel both charming and absolutely stunning. Its modern-yet-timeless aesthetic is perfect for a chic bridal shower or private birthday party. It can accommodate up to 60 guests inside and up to 30 in its semi-private dining area for nearly any soirée you can dream up.
