The modern love story of Jessica and Azal took a historic twist as they wed at Pleasantdale Château in West Orange, New Jersey. While the lovely couple met at Yahoo! their passion for historic charm was expressed by their wedding at the New Jersey Château with origins dating back to 1835. Inspired by Norman architecture of Northern France and Southern England the historic and European-inspired estate was a stunning contrast to the contemporary duo's sleek style.
Set in the town of West Orange, Pleasantdale Château is situated on 40 acres of formal gardens, wood lawns, meadows, and ponds. Besides the stunning scenery and historic town, the estate exhibits fascinating architecture and true attention to detail.
Take, for example, the music room whose roof is constructed from the ceiling of a Scandinavian chapel and the intricately designed Grand Ballroom. Jessica and Azal snapped portraits among the estate's gardens and then took wider shots in the estate's impressive Mediterranean-style Fountain Room. The lavish Fountain Room characterized by richly-colored tiles, gleaming mosaic pillars, and an elaborate glass ceiling provided a unique and interesting backdrop for their indoor photos.
While Jessica and Azal's wedding was elegant and classic they still showed off their personalities. Their pup Zico, who even has his own Facebook page boasting more than 1,000 likes, starred in some of the couples' photos.
Jessica wore a Vera Wang all-white tulle dress with lace details while Azal sported a Ralph Lauren Black Label tux with Alfred Dunhill cufflinks. The sleek and classic look was paired nicely with all-white roses and peonies, courtesy of Belle Fleur New York.
The Ceremony and Reception
The Château's Grand Ballroom was transformed by the simple white accents and floral arrangements decided upon by the couple. It's grand decor and accommodations for 300 people were made to feel comfortable with the couple's ceremony taking place at center stage. Light spilled into the ballroom through curtain-lined windows and the large, round skylight overhead.
After the ceremony, the ballroom was transformed into a stunning reception. While guests perused the gardens and creeks, the Château's staff quickly assembled the ballroom to accommodate a dance floor and dining tables. Guests enjoyed meals prepared by the Château's classically trained chef who created meals tailored specifically to Jessica and Azal's tastes.
Finally as the night was winding down, guests were able to stay in the Château's over 30 well-appointed guest rooms. The estate's professional and friendly staff was able to tend to any need and ensure all the details were well taken care of after the ceremony. Jessica and Azal ended the night not only having had solidified their love but having done so in the presence of their dearest friends and family.
