This venue was the perfect choice for the beautiful couple who wanted a chic wedding with a rustic twist. From the elegant invitations right down to the quirky details, this couple truly infused their presence throughout making for a one of a kind wedding that we know you are going to fall in love with.
The Event Space
Surrounded by the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains, Pippin Hill Farm is the ideal setting for a wedding or any other special event. The immaculate grounds of the winery provide a wealth of great photo opportunities, and Ceremony Lawn is a romantic natural setting to exchange the vows. The entire facility can be privately hired, allowing you and 250 guests to take full advantage of this beautiful event space. The covered stone terrace provides the perfect place for some leisurely afternoon and evening drinks, and the 3,600 square foot granary is a grand space for hosting the reception meal, with authentic farm tables and a wine bar helping to create a relaxed rustic vibe. With so many incredible draws it’s not hard to see why Bob and Jess chose Pippin Hill Farm to say their “I Do’s”.
Jess is a graphic designer with a love for teal and all things chic and modern and it's obvious from the wedding stationary that she personally designed that she had a clear vision on the wedding theme from the get-go. Teal was the one unifying element that ran throughout the day, from Jess's exquisite diamante heels to the ribbons hanging from the back of the bride and groom's chairs. Everything was so elegant and beautiful with a simplicity that didn't take anything away from the beauty of the venue itself.
The special Ceremony Lawn at Pippin Hill Farm is the perfect spot for exchanging vows. Hosting up to 250 guests and boasting panoramic views of one of the most stunning backdrops imaginable you couldn't ask for a more apt place to share such a memorable moment. White chairs and white rose petals line the aisle, with the warm summer sun shining down on the husband and wife to be. For an extra special touch, Bob and Jess asked each of their guests to take a ribbon wand to give a wave of good wishes in place of throwing traditional confetti as they walked hand in hand after saying their vows.
With a venue as beautiful as Pippin Hill you don't have to go overboard with the decor as the setting is already incredible without the need for added embellishment. Bob and Jess decided to keep things simple opting for minimal decor that enhanced the rustic chic vibe that was already present. Oversized lanterns, huge wooden wedding wreaths, and monogrammed cushions are just some of their stylish additions. Their centerpieces were fashioned from rustic twigs surrounded by cream colored hydrangeas and adorned with hanging tealights. The couple also strategically placed stations for refreshments, wedding programs and favors throughout the venue so guests could easily follow along and feel engaged with the days events as they unfolded.
Bob and Jess wanted a fresh and seasonal menu for their big day and Pippin Hill Farm was more than happy to accommodate. Pippin Hill Farm prides themselves on providing fresh local produce with innovative yet simple menus to suit all requirements. The food and wine menus are carefully concocted to give the perfect partnership for all to enjoy. Being a popular working winery on the famous Virginia Monticello Wine Trail, they go above and beyond to ensure that you and your guests are always supplied with the finest wines, as well as some tailor made signature cocktails which give a unique personal touch.
Flowers play an important role in any wedding and for Bob and Jess this was no different. Opting for a wild yet refined bouquet filled with delicate cream roses coupled with pops of bright orange ranunculus, Jess looked gorgeous with florals that matched her and the setting to a tee. The bridesmaids sported equally as impressive bouquets comprised of an array of wild pink blooms that stood out against their mauve dresses. Flowers also made an appearance at the reception but they were elegantly utilized and not overdone.
Wedding details are one of the main ways that couples get to infuse their unique personalities into the day, so Bob and Jess didn't hold back. Aside from all their other tactfully placed decor they were also inspired by the venue to add those little extra touches that make a world of difference. From flip flops that the ladies could wear so their stilettos didn't slow them down when play time came around, to the sunloungers, sparklers and cigar bar, they made sure their guests felt truly welcomed and appreciated from start to finish.
There are some spectacular indoor and outdoor spaces at Pippin Hill Farm which lend themselves perfectly to a host of different entertainment options. The expansive open lawns provide you with a space for socializing and enjoying some lawn games in the open air, and when everyone is ready to put on their party shoes and shake some moves, you can head into the granary for disco time. As the evening draws on, the disco can be opened out onto the patio space, with some dramatic campfires to light the evening sky and provide a warm glow to the lawn areas. Bob and Jess took full advantage of the facilities to put on great entertainment, utilizing all of these inspiring spaces, creating once in a lifetime memories along the way.
One of the most important aspects of any wedding venue is the photography locations that are available, and Pippin Hill Farm is photogenic from every angle. The impressive rustic barn is tastefully decorated and has some fantastic spaces to capture some great group photos, not least outside the main entrance. The rolling hills of the country grounds, dramatic mountainous backdrop, and pristine lawns provide an endless amount of photo options so the photographer can whisk you away for your own romantic countryside photoshoot while the rest of the guests are enjoying their cocktails and appetizers. As you can see from Bob and Jess's more intimate couple shots, you won't be disappointed with the snaps that you can capture at this location.
