November can be an appealing time to get married. Thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday, many couples who choose the 11th month for the nuptials can enjoy a longer-than-usual honeymoon. Weddings in November can also be more budget friendly. As the traditional wedding season ends, many vendors begin offering discounted rates in hopes of filling up their calendar. If you are getting married and taking your honeymoon in November, you will need the perfect late-year destination. Here are four of our favorite places to honeymoon in November.

St. Barts

The island of St. Barts has long attracted the celebrity set with its haute cuisine and remarkable white sand beaches. This Caribbean getaway is at its most appealing in November. Rainy season has ended, but the busy "snowbird season" does not begin until December. Honeymooners can enjoy all 22 white sand beaches on St. Barts without having to deal with the crowds.

Honeymooners can hole up in luxury boutique hotels like La Banane. Situated just 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the island’s main town, Gustavia, La Banane offers a boutique hotel experience with a hip edge. The property only has nine suites, so it boasts an intimate and personal atmosphere. Honeymooners can appreciate amenities such as rainfall showers, flat screen televisions and designer spa products. Rooms offer direct pool access, and guests are only a few footsteps away from the sugary white sands of Lorient Beach. La Banane was once a favorite spot of vacationing Parisians in the 1950s and 1960s, and it retains its retro chic atmosphere to this day.

Big Sur, California

Big Sur is in the middle of California's Central Coast region. The coastline around these parts is overwhelmingly beautiful. It is frequently referred to as California’s most romantic and relaxing corner. Big Sur is all about nature. Couples can take advantage of being amidst ancient forests and rugged shoreline by taking hikes, enjoying picnics and embarking on beach walks. November honeymoons in Big Sur feature temperatures in the mid 60s along with minimal crowds and maximum privacy.

Couples looking to take advantage of all of Big Sur’s natural beauty can hide away at the Post Ranch Inn. Perched on a cliff some 1,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean, this Big Sur getaway has 41 rooms to choose from. Its suites either overlook the coast or the surrounding mountains. Honeymooners can enjoy the indoor and outdoor hot tubs as well as the property’s award winning restaurant. The Post Ranch Inn is a luxurious venue with a subtle "country inn" ambiance.

Jaisalmer, India

In the heart of the Thar Desert in far western India, you will find the glorious ancient city of Jaisalmer. This 12th century settlement is one of India’s most unforgettable destinations. It also happens to be a romantic spot for a honeymoon in November. The ancient city embraces its history. It once acted as a way-station along the routes that connected India to the famed Silk Road. November can be one of the best times to visit Jaisalmer and the Thar Desert. This is because temperatures seldom rise above the mid 80s, so conditions are ideal for sightseeing, even in the middle of the day. November evenings are even more pleasant.

Honeymooners can travel back to Jaisalmer’s past, in a sense, by staying at The Serai. 20 miles outside of town in the middle of the scenic Thar Desert, the property takes its inspiration from the opulent caravan encampments used by Rajasthan’s royalty a century ago. Guests can choose from 21 luxurious tented suites, six of which feature dip pools and walled private garden areas. Public areas include an expansive pool, a relaxing bar and a comfortable dining tent.

Sicily

The Italian island of Sicily is filled with ancient ruins, romantic cities and a rich history. At one time or another home to every great Mediterranean civilization you can think of, Sicily is not short of sightseeing opportunities for honeymooners. November brings a slower pace to the island. Tourists have left for the year, and, while it can get chilly at night, the weather is quite pleasant during the days.

Mount Etna, one of the world’s major active volcanoes, is a popular spot for romance-seeking couples. This mount also happens to be the largest and highest volcano in Europe. Couples looking to stay near one of Europe's great natural wonders can reserve a room at Monaci delle Terre Nere. Just north of the city of Catania, and right on the slopes of Mount Etna, this historic 19th century estate is all about classic charm and luxury. Guests can choose from 19 suites at this boutique hotel. You won’t find televisions or phones in the rooms here, but you will find a sense of "getting away from it all." Monaci delle Terre Nere is also an organic farm, so guests can taste amazingly fresh foods throughout their stay.
