Unfortunately, most stores do not release their Black Friday deals until the day before or even the day of.
No need to worry...I have composed a list of items to look out for and stores that may have deals that will save you bundles in the long run.
Here is what to do...
1st - Plan your day :
Plan exactly where you are going and what items you are looking for.
2nd - Be prepared :
Don’t forget to bring water and snacks, nothing ruins a good day of shopping like being hungry or thirsty.
3rd - Bring a friend :
Weather it be your maid of honor, a few bridesmaids, or your mother, make sure to bring a companion to shop with.
I recommend not shopping with more than three other people.
It is hard enough to fight your way though lines, you don’t want to worry about keeping track of six others as well.
Three or four is just enough to divide and conquer.
Here is a list of things to look for on Black Friday and potential places to find sales:
Traditionally, bridal shops do not have Black Friday deals, but your local boutique may surprise you so it is worth a phone call.
Some have sales around that time but the sale may not be on actual Black Friday, for example.
Kleinfeld Bridal has a great sale going on a few days after Black Friday and some of the proceeds benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.
What a great way to shop and do something philanthropic.
Black Friday is a great time to shop for bridesmaids dresses as well as a dress for the flower girl.
Black Friday is the perfect time to shop for shoes.
This is a small item where you have potential to save hundreds of dollars, especially if you are footing the bill for your bridesmaid's shoes (no pun intended).
For example, on top of their door buster prices, receive 15% off all shoes during Macy's Thanksgiving Sale.
Men’s Tuxedo & Suiting
You may want to drag your hubby with you to check out these stores as well as the department stores.
This site offers a great list of men's clothing items that will be on sale and their various locations.
Even if you are not the typical do it yourself bride there are plenty of things you can pick up on Black Friday to make your life easier in the months to come.
Both stores are offering a 3-day sale so I recommend you spend Black Friday at the mall and the following days shopping at other stores.
Here are some examples of things to pick up:
- supplies for cute signs/banners for the wedding and reception
- mason jars
- ribbon, ring bearer pillow
- flower girl basket
- guest book
- and don't forget to stock up on supplies you need for wedding favors.
The sporting goods section is a great place to find a gift for your future husband, like golf clubs or a new bike.
