For us foodies, the one thing we look forward too when attending an event is the food and if we are lucky, a really good cocktail. For us we don’t really care about the flowers, the flatware or the linens, we remember the great conversation, the libations, and the tasty or not so tasty bites that are served. From farm to table dining experiences, to top chef cooking classes, we have mapped out the top 5 venues for foodies to host your wedding or event.
Valle De Guadalupe has recently been compared to Napa as the Wine Country of Mexico. Over the last 5 years, the region has grown from a small wine-producing region to a bustling region of high quality wine, farm to table cuisine and producing some of the best restaurants out of Mexico. Encuentro Guadalupe is comprised of 20 Eco lofts, a 5 bedroom Eco Villa and 22 acres of vines and organic gardens.
Encuentro Guadalupe is home of the amazing executive chef Flor Franco who prepares only fresh farm to table cuisine using products exclusively from the location as well as the Valle De Guadalupe region. Whether you are hosting a dinner party for 10 or a wedding of 200, Flor will create a custom dining experience.
Not only does Encuentro Guadalupe offer and produce great wine, they also offer an extensive selection of craft cocktails created by San Diego based Snake Oil Cocktail. Snake Oil Cocktail uses fresh local produce and ingredients to create their masterful concoctions. How about a craft cocktail pairing dinner overlooking Guadalupe Valley?
In addition to the amazing culinary delights at Encuentro Guadalupe, you and your guests can visit some of the world-renowned restaurants of the Valle including Laja and Corazon De Tierra.
AND if you happen to love Anthony Bourdain as much as I do, you can visit some of the restaurants he visited on No Reservations including Corazon De Tierra, and the popular street cart Mariscos La Guerrerense in Ensenada for the best seafood tostadas and cocktails in Baja. Food is what Valle De Guadalupe does best.
Flora Farms is not only a unique event space and farm, but is also a restaurant, grocery, and culinary school. Flora farms sits on over 12 acres of farmland and utilizes ingredients from the farm as well as from local farms and food service providers. Everything is local and fresh.

Flora farms has many event spaces including the garden theater, the mango groves, the lakeside lawn, the culinary cottage lawn, the kitchen, and much more. The Flora Farms bonus, all the décor and chairs onsite can be used for your event.

Casas Na Areia located in Lisbon, Portugal does not offer a fancy chef or a farm to table experience, but what it does offer is one of my favorite things in the world, a short stroll to a fisherman’s beach. Casa Na Areia is located in the fisherman’s village of Comporta. Comporta not only offers some amazing seafood restaurants right off the docks, but also offers the opportunity to buy fish directly from the fisherman as they come in.
BBQ fish in your own private cottage? We think so. Fresh grilled octopus, sardines and local fish is what is for dinner. Even cooler, the town is mostly owned and run by local fisherman. This is a seafood lovers paradise.
For us foodies that have been to Tuscany, know that it is a food lovers dream. Pici pasta, truffles, tuscan stews, pecorino cheese, and the freshest pasta and produce you will ever consume are just the day to day here in Tuscany.
Borgo Santo Pietro is of course a beautiful estate that is available for events, but it also is the breeding ground for amazing estate wine, olive oil, and fresh produce. Not only can you enjoy the delicious products sourced from the farm, but you also have many culinary options available at your finger tips.
Unlike most estates, Borgo Santo Pietro has a restaurant and the Tree House bar and lounge in addition to the many hidden gems throughout the property to host an event and enjoy the local faire.
Great For: Weddings, Corporate Events, Retreats, Honeymoons, Cooking Classes, and Group Getaways.
