Top 5 New York Fashion Week Trends We Will Be Seeing in Bridal
I don't know about you, but for me September is my favorite month out of the whole year.
Not only is the weather always perfect, it's my birthday month and with children going back to school it always give me the feeling of new things coming.
My absolute favorite thing about September is Fashion. It's New York fashion week and all of the September Issues of Vogue, Baazar and Elle.
With my finger on the pulse on the fashion world, I think I can predict some awesome trends that we are going to start seeing in fashion forward brides.
I've illustrated how some of these trends will translate to bridal by using gowns from various collections by one of the best bridal designers out there Matthew Christopher!
Hot Trend 1: Lace
I absolutely adore lace. I think it is so feminine and delicate. This season shows that highlighted lace would be J. Mendel and Marchesa.

Hot Trend 2: Color and Black
More and more often I find myself looking at some of the latest runway shows and thinking, this would be an amazing wedding dress! Color and black in Bridal wear has been around since the 90s, but I tribute is latest surge in popularity to Vera Wang who exclusively used tan and black in her last collection.

Hot Trend 3: Structured
Zac Posen has to be my favorite designer right now. His latest runway show completely captured my heart. Zac Posenand J. Mendel's collection was dominated by highly structured gowns that worked with the female figure while still creating an architectural feel.

Hot Trend 4: Organza/Sheer Layers
This may be the opposite of the Structured Trend, but a lot of lovely gowns this season have been light and flowy. Lots of sheer, sometimes layered embellishments. There was also the use of Tulle and Organza to create volume. Perhaps sheer and lace go hand in hand because Jenny Packham and Marchesa's newest lines were great examples of this trend as well.

Hot Trend 5: Shine
Who doesn't want a little sparkle and shine on their wedding day. During New York Fashion week I've seen a lot of eye catching sequins and high gloss satin or silk. While New York Fashion Week takes itself very seriously, it was fun for me to see a little whimsy sneak in. Definitely check out the two blue gowns from the Jenny Packham collection.
