We have always found braids to be a popular option for our clients as a way of incorporating a fun twist into a style, but the past few months we are finding that braids are in higher demand than ever before, and are an exciting trend for 2015.

The great thing about braids is how creative you get with them, and we are loving the varieties of "braids" we are getting requests for. The two-strand waterfall braid seems to be a popular option for our clients who would like to wear their hair down and still feel like there is some sort of a design in their style. The deconstructed braid -messy, chunky, and disconnected have been quite popular as well, which can easily be incorporated into a style that is down, half up or even in an updo. Our favorite request has been the disconnected mohawk braid, it can be played up for a more messy look, or toned down for a softer look. From a stylists standpoint, braids can also be a technique used to bring in some texture, dimension, and the appearance of thickness/bulk for our client's styles. Even if a noticeable braid is not the end goal for a given style, when pulled apart and pieced out they can really be useful.

We also always love when the Pantone Color of the year makes for amazing makeup trends and options. The 2015 color Marsala is such a beautiful tone, and though it has been a popular request for lips, we have found that it is also a great color for cheeks, eyes, and nails... the options are limitless.

The runway paves the way for upcoming trends in hair and makeup, and for 2015 we see a more natural, neutral and undone look as being the trend we will see a lot.
