About Insólito Boutique Hotel

The Brazilian resort town of Armação dos Búzios can best be described as a sun-and-sand paradise. With calm, warm waters and 26 beaches stretched along a lush five-mile peninsula, this destination, in Rio de Janeiro State, is as near to tropical perfection as any other oceanside town in Brazil. The Insólito Boutique Hotel can make your stay in Búzios beyond ideal. The luxurious 20-suite property sits on Ferradura, which is widely considered to be the best of the 26 beaches on the peninsula. The estate was converted from a private home into a hotel by celebrated Brazilian architect Otavio Raja Gabaglia. Gabaglia succeeded in creating a space that is, at once, both modern and timeless. Insólito also has a healthy dose of glamour, which helps it fit perfectly in Búzios, the favorite destination of French movie icon Brigitte Bardot. The terra-cotta roof tiles, wooden beams and Portuguese stones give the Insólito Boutique Hotel a strong sense of place, while the sleek deck, designer furnishings and unique pools imbue this hotel with the modern ambiance. The multiple decks and floor-to-ceiling windows celebrate the lush landscapes and calm waters that surround the estate. Each of the 24 rooms has its own personal design. The entire luxury property consists of four buildings and features several different classes of room. All rooms have king size beds, quality linens and a bright color scheme that accentuates the sense of space that guests feel. Original artwork is hung in each room and suite, and some rooms even feature murals that were painted especially for the hotel by Brazilian artists. This luxury boutique hotel has a saltwater pool, a freshwater pool, a sauna, steam room, hot tub and traditional Japanese ofurô bathhouse. Of course, Ferradura Beach is only a few footsteps from Insólito, and there are two boats, including a 30-foot cruiser, that guests can use to explore the 25 other beaches on the peninsula. The Bar is very special. It was carved from a single tree that fell after standing in the Brazilian forest for nearly 1,000 years. The restaurant features dishes created using the freshest seafood, free-range meats and local ingredients. The hotel has a wellness center. The treatment menu includes massages, facials, and services based on traditional indigenous medicine. The nearby town of Búzios offers shopping and nightlife options without detracting from the natural beauty and calm atmosphere that pervades the beachside areas of the peninsula. What to do Visit Ferradura Beach... or one of the 25 other beaches near Búzios. Enjoy the lush scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows in your suite or while lounging on one of the many balconies and decks at Insólito. Savor the fresh seafood, which is expertly prepared by Insólito’s skilled chefs.
