About Laucala Private Island

Laucala Resort is made up of 25 villas, which are spread out on a idyllic private island in Fiji. With white sands that are the color and consistency of sugar and lush inland landscapes, the scenery of Laucala alone is enough to inspire visitors to call it Eden in the South Pacific. The level of privacy and luxury are truly unparalleled at this 3,500-acre property. Each of the villas is set apart from the others, and each boasts its own swimming pool, outdoor shower, private gardens, and full bar. Guests can choose the type of experience that that would like to have. Some villas are actually located over the warm, clear waters that ring the island, while others sit next to the beach. A few are even located on the lush plateau overlooking the coast. Local timber, thatched roofs, and an airy and open design bring a truly Fijian living experience to each guest (albeit a very glamorous version of the South Pacific lifestyle). Five restaurants are located on the island. Fine dining can be found at the spacious Plantation House, a colonial-era building that offers some of the best views on Laucala. The Seagrass Lounge provides alfresco dining, while the Beach Bar and Pool Bar both serve up a quality food in a casual, social atmosphere. And, of course, guests can request that meals be served at their private villa or anywhere else on the island that they prefer. In addition to a world class golf course, Laucala guests can enjoy sailing, outrigger canoeing, sunset cruises, SCUBA expeditions, and horseback rides through the highlands. After a day of adventure, they can relax at Laucala’s spa, choosing from a full menu of standard and traditional Fijian treatments. Native plants and herbs are used in many of the spa treatments. This practice underlines the main philosophy of Laucala: to bring the best of the island to each guest so that they can have an utterly unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else on earth. What to do Explore the lush interior of the island on foot or on horseback. Experience the underwater marvels of Fiji by taking a SCUBA diving trip (PADI certification is available for guests). Enjoy a relaxing massage at the end of the day. Appreciate the amazing views and even more amazing cuisine at the Plantation House. Photos Courtesy of Laucala Private Island
