About Monteverdi Tuscany

Framed by green mountains and vineyard-covered valleys, Castiglioncello del Trinoro is a timeless Tuscan village that holds a very special allure. This village plays host to Monteverdi, a collection of lovingly restored 12th-Century stone buildings that have been converted into luxury rental villas and a boutique hotel, together creating one of the most serene and atmospheric vacation destinations in all of Europe. The three renovated villas, with original arches and beams and locally-sourced stone and wood, offer space, privacy, and luxury without sacrificing the ambiance that every building in Castiglioncello del Trinoro is infused with. The six-bedroom Villa Muri Antichi is the perfect example of how Monteverdi brings both the past and present together. A state-of-the-art kitchen and sleek marble bathrooms are balanced perfectly with the classic design elements and rustic stone and wood building materials. A sound system and designer appliances are tastefully placed, while indoor seating areas and an expansive outdoor terrace (with a dining space) imbue a sense of comfort and calm to the villa’s guests. The elegant two-bedroom Villa San Pietro boasts an intimate appeal. This villa demonstrates Monteverdi’s philosophy that quality should be more than skin deep. The master suite in San Pietro features hand-sewn leather furniture and hand-dyed linens. The rainfall shower, wine cellar and slick entertainment system are also on this villas impressive list of amenities. Meanwhile, the three-bedroom, three-floor Villa Amiata provides amazing views from its upper-levels salon. Like the other two villas, modern appliances, an entertainment system and extras like a rainfall shower and timeless atmosphere are also present here. The bathroom in this villa features a whirlpool and steam room. The boutique Hotel Monteverdi features six suites and four luxury rooms, housed in three recently restored buildings. All the rooms boast the same blend of historic and modern that makes the nearby villas so enchanting. In addition, each room in the hotel has its own unique traits. One suite, for instance, has a copper soaking tub from the 1700s, while another has a large fireplace and doors that open onto a private garden. Original artwork hangs on each rooms walls, while the art of Mother Nature (in the form of the beautiful valleys of Tuscany) can be seen from each room thanks to the oversized windows. Oreade, Monteverdi’s fine dining restaurant, sits at the heart of the village, while the more informal Caffè and Enoteca is another option. The services of a private chef are also available, and the events calendar at Monteverdi features cooking classes, concerts, and artist lectures. What to do Browse the contemporary art that is hung all around Monteverdi. Enjoy a gourmet meal at Oreade, then take a cooking class so that you can learn the skills to bring the dishes of Tuscany home with you when you leave. Take a shopping excursion or a tour of some of Tuscany’s finest wineries.

The different accomodation choices. Despite being a relatively small and private place, you can easily find the perfect suite or villa to fit your needs.

The scenery: every room and terrace overlooks some of the most glorious panoramas that Tuscany has to offer.
