About Villa San Lorenzo

Villa San Lorenzo di Bonvicino sits in the bucolic hills of Piedmont, Italy. The centerpiece of this 14-acre property is a stone villa that dates back to the 17th century. The villa's owners completed a five-year restoration project in 2013. It now has all the modern luxuries that you could ever want, but it has also retained its attractive historic charm. Updates such as wifi, satellite television, comfortable bedding, new plumbing and electricity, and a state-of-the-art kitchen provide an upscale experience for guests. This section of Piedmont is off the tourist trail, so the villages here have an undiscovered feel to them, though they are just as attractive as any you will visit in Italy. This is the ideal venue for you if you want to get away from the crowds. San Lorenzo has seven bedrooms. Five are equipped with queen size beds and two offer the choice between queens and two single beds. The bedrooms have en suite baths with shower (one has an oversized glass shower). There is an additional bathroom off the chef’s kitchen. The villa features two large living spaces and a family-style dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows. There is an additional outdoor stone table that offers amazing views of the scenery. (It should be noted that Villa San Lorenzo sits at an altitude of about 2,000 feet, so the views of the surrounding countryside are stunning no matter where you are on the property). Other outdoor amenities include an 11-meter pool and a traditional wood-fired pizza oven. The nearby town boasts restaurants, cafes, gelato shops and a charming market. Local wineries serve up some of Italy’s finest vintages. In addition to the aforementioned indoor common areas, the villa has a courtyard lawn that can be used for tented events. San Lorenzo can host all sorts of special events for up to 60 guests (14 of which can stay overnight if they choose). Aside from the charming surroundings, non-touristy vibe and comfortable setting, the best thing about Villa San Lorenzo is its location. When you stay here, you are about an hour’s drive from both the Italian Riviera and the Italian Alps. Milan and Nice, France are two hours away.

What we love

The non-touristy vibe of the surrounding villages.

The indoor and outdoor common areas, which are ideal for an intimate event.

The renovated interiors, which still maintain their original historic attractiveness.
